"Was forever grateful to Betty when she took me in for an evening or two when I needed help! She was a kind woman and I am sure a wonderful mother! May she rest in peace."

"To the family of Betty Pudschun, I'm sorry for your loss.
She was "Betty the Bus Driver" to us. She would drive a school bus, loaded with screaming kids, to Taylorville to take us roller skating, when Springfield didn't have their own rink. The Skylite Roller Rink, as I remember...I should...I was one of those screaming kids on the bus!
"Betty the Bus Driver" will be sadly missed, she was good to us!"

"Back in the early to mid 70's, Betty regularly drove a group of Jr. High students from Thomas Jefferson Jr. High to Taylorville, IL to go roller skating. I was one of those lucky Jr. High students that went along most of the time. At that time, there was no roller rink in Springfield and Betty was kind enough to get a bus and take us to Taylorville, IL to skate. She would pick us up by groups at various pickup points and then drop us off at each individuals home when we returned late at night. I remember getting home around midnight, so I can imagine how late Betty got home from those trips. I'm sure she knew how much we all loved going to Taylorville to skate or she would have never done it. However, I don't know if her family knows this, so I wanted to share this story and tell you that many of us have GREAT memories of those trips to Taylorville and we very much appreciated her taking us!!! We are very sorry to see Betty leave us, but we know she is in a much better place. Our prayers are with the family and many friends Betty made over the years. Sandy Walk-Walden"
