James Michael "Mike" Goins, 59, of Springfield, died at 10:57 pm, Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born October 5, 1954 in Springfield, to James Alexander and Ruby Jewell Wilson Goins. He married Sharon J. Cantrall on October 25, 2007 and she preceded him in death on May 13, 2014.

His parents, and step-father, Bob Crowder; two sisters, Sandy Gudgel and Pat Walker and one brother, Chuck Goins also preceded him in death.

Survivors include two sisters, Janet (Dave) Elder of Springfield and Bobbie Staley of Licking, MO; two brothers, John (Cheryl) Goins and Steve Goins both of Springfield; three step-brothers, Harry (Connie) Crowder of Springfield, Jerry (Linda) Crowder of Chatham and Marvin Crowder of Peoria; one step son, Ryan (Danyele) Cantrall; one step-daughter, Tammy Cantrall (Steve Mainwaring); one aunt and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

James was a Cubs fan, he enjoyed his coffee and cigarettes and spending time with his dog Nikki.

Family will be hosting a Celebration of life: 2-6 pm, Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Aqua Sports Club.

Memorial contributions may be given to the family of James Michael Goins in care of Janet Elder.
