Daryl Edward Tippin, 66, of Springfield, IL died at 4:35 a.m. Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at St. John's Hospice. He was born March 1, 1945 in Tiffin, Ohio to James and Buannah Reiter Tippin. His father preceded him in death.
He is survived by his daughter, Jenna Tippin of Glen Carbon, IL, formerly of Springfield; two sons, Joshua Tippin of Springfield and Shane (Nichole) Tippin of Smithville, MO, two grandchildren, Kyleigh and Taylor Tippin, mother, Buannah Tippin of Paducah, KY, one brother, Rick Tippin of Paducah, KY and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Daryl was a U.S. Air Force Veteran and was a member of the Pleasant Plains Masonic Lodge #500 and St. John's Lutheran Church. He liked to golf, watch sports and spend time with family and friends.
Visitation: 2-5 pm, Sunday, February 26, 2012 at Staab Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 9:30 am, Monday, February 27, 2012 at St. John's Lutheran Church with Reverend Ladd Sonnenberg and Reverend Greg Busboom officiating.
Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery where Sangamon County Interveterans will conduct military honors.
