Michael M. Lohrenz

SPRINGFIELD - Michael M. Lohrenz, 62, of Springfield, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at his residence.

He was born May 25, 1945 in Pierre, SD, the son of Marion and Iris Westlund Lohrenz. He married Shearl Long on November 18, 1976. His father preceded him in death.

Mr. Lohrenz worked for the Illinois State Police in the radio laboratory. He was a member of I Worship Center and American Legion in Lincoln, IL. He was a United States Navy veteran and a member of the Air National Guard.

Survivors: wife, Shearl Lohrenz of Springfield; three children, Michael M. Lohrenz II, Amanda L. Lohrenz, and Justin T. Lohrenz, all of Springfield; two grandchildren, Brandon L. Steele and Jaidyn Lou-Nicole Sampson; one sister, Judy (husband, Cliff) Perkins of Lincoln; mother, Iris Lohrenz of Lincoln; several aunts and uncles; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois or the American Cancer Society.

Visitation will be held 9:00-10:30 p.m., Monday, June 11, 2007 at I. Worship Center. Services: 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 11, 2007 at I. Worship Center, Reverend Dr. Eric A. Hansen officiating. Burial: Camp Butler National Cemetery, where the Navy will conduct military honors. Staab Funeral Home of Service.
